Gratitude from Pamela K. Miller of ACAT in Anchorage

From Pamela K. MIller, Executive Director at Alaska Community Action on Toxics:

I am very sad to hear about the closing of ESC. ESC has been critical to the work of so many environmental justice groups around the country over many years. For ACAT, ESC provided help at a critical time with the FUNDs [Fundraising for Sustainable Organizations] program and much-needed support for us to create and implement a long-term development plan. ESC also supported board and staff training including travel for our rural Alaska board members. This kind of support is difficult to find among foundations and something that we will always appreciate. The support has been sustaining and encouraging. And, Peggy, a personal thanks for the many hours of consultation and advice with you—it was truly helpful for our long-term health and well-being. Thank you. [September 13, 2011]
