- Exposed: Social vulnerability and climate change in the US Southeast
- Oxfam America invites you to view our groundbreaking new report and interactive website, Exposed: Social vulnerability and climate change in the US Southeast. The report maps social vulnerability to climate variability in 13 states in the US Southeast. It visually identifies hotspots which are at significant risk of drought, flooding, hurricane force winds, and sea level rise. The interactive website allows you to explore the social vulnerability maps and see how your community measures up, learn about the methodology, and discover what you can do to help. This new Oxfam America report and website will be powerful advocacy tools to help communities to prepare for and respond to the devastating effects of disasters. The report uses the University of South Carolina Hazards and Vulnerability Research Institute’s Social Vulnerability Index (SoVI) to expose how social variables determine a population's ability to prepare, respond, and recover when disaster strikes.
