Technology Rosources Program description

The Technology Resources (TR) program helps environmental justice groups increase the efficiency of their daily operations and the effectiveness of their communications with their constituents and the general public. The program serves environmental justice

organizations in the southern and Southwest states.

Participating organizations receive:

  • a technological assessment
  • a strategic technology plan
  • the equipment and training to put those plans into motion

Grants and equipment average $5,000

Through the Technology Resources program, environmental justice groups:

  • Determine where it is with office and organizing technology, where it wants to be, and what it needs to plan for and budget for its current and future needs
  • Receives the hardware and software it needs to begin to upgrade, including computers, software, fax machines, telephones, video and digital cameras, printers and other technology
  • Have help installing the equipment and get onsite training on how to use it
  • Can get ongoing support from the Environmental Support Center's Technology specialist

Due to funding limitations, the Technology Resources program is only accepting applications from environmental justice groups in the Greater Houston area, or that are engaging in freshwater work in southern states east of the Mississippi River.
