Training and Organizational Assistance Eligibility

To be eligible for assistance, a group must to be:

  • a multi-issue local, state or regional nonprofit that spends at least 10% of its resources on environmental issues
  • an environmental justice or environmental activist organization
  • a network or coalition of environmental justice and environmental activist groups

Organizations do not need 501c3 tax-exempt status to be eligible for TOA support.

In addition, we are particularly interested in supporting organizations that

  • serve low-income people and people of color
  • have limited resources (generally budgets under $250,000)

Our ability to provide funding can be affected by how much money we may have available for specific geographic regions.

The TOA Program offers three tracks for organizations interested in applying for assistance through the Environmental Support Center.
